End User License Agreement

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the GitQuest application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement ("EULA"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

2. License Grant

The developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to the Apple App Store Terms of Service and Apple Media Services Terms.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App;
  • disassemble, decompile, or reverse-engineer the App;
  • resell, rent, lease, lend, or redistribute the App;
  • circumvent any technical protection measures;
  • use the App for any unlawful or harmful purpose.

4. User Content

Your learning progress (completed investigations, badges, score, settings) belongs to you and is stored locally on your device. If you create an account, some data may be synced through a third-party service as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, its educational content (investigations, academy, glossary), interfaces, graphics, and source code are the exclusive property of the developer and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. No rights are transferred beyond the authorized use granted by this license.

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The App offers optional subscriptions and a one-time purchase to remove ads. Full terms (pricing, renewal, cancellation, withdrawal rights) are described on our Subscription Terms page.

7. Warranty and Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The developer does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or business, arising from the use of the App. The developer's total liability is limited to the amount paid by the user over the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

This license remains in effect while you use the App. It may terminate automatically upon breach of these terms. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the App.

9. Governing Law

This EULA is governed by French law. Any dispute will be submitted to French courts after an attempt at amicable resolution.

10. Changes

The developer may modify this EULA. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
